down toward the palm beach, south florida. no big storms our way. that is welcome news. high pressure is in charge. we're off to a great start and a great start to your weekend. skies remain mostly clear overnight tonight. another pretty good night. here is a picture of one of the leonid meteors early this morning. if you can get a quick peek at the dark sky overnight you might see a few more meteors but clouds on the increase. the northeasterly wind often brings a lot of cloud cover. that starts to arrive tomorrow and builds into monday and tuesday. so today nothing to worry about. mostly sunny and nice. highs up into the low 50s. a little bit cooler than average. not too bad with the sunshine. more clouds tomorrow. especially by tomorrow afternoon. as a result probably just a touch cooler. not much if anything in the way of sunshine but also not much of a rain threat. that is good news for a lot of people to try and get out of town a little early. the big travel day on wednesday nothing to worry about. turkey day looks good.

these are lines in and around orange county in orlando, florida. when you look at the line, you may say, what's taking so long? in addition to the presidential election, there are 11 constitutional amendment and questions on the ballot, and it's slow going because you may or may not know, sometimes people when they write to write constitutional amendments put it in extremely confusing language and double negatives and it's hard to understand. one of the amendments is 640 words. the ballot -- if you take a ballot in dade county and printed out a sample ballot, it's 12 pages long. so you can imagine even though people are arriving and maye made up their minds on the presidential race, there are other issues and other minor problems with when their finished with that feeding them into the machines. if you feed them into the machines with three pieces of paper, that takes about a minute to feed all three pieces in. so you have a backup there. so far no serious problems. we're certainly not looking at a case of the florida we saw back in 2000. things ar
